A Different Kind of Watercolor Art Retreat

Hey there, Reader!

You know me—I’m forever in planning-and-creating mode. And right now, I’m having SO much fun dreaming up the art experiences for the Watercolor & Wanderlust Retreat in January.

But you know what I’m NOT planning? Five days of me standing at the front saying, “Okay, now everybody paint what I paint.”😂 No way, José!

Because one of my favorite things about watercolor—and creativity in general—is that we can all look at the same reference or explore the same creative possibility and each notice, choose, and be inspired by something different.

And when we put all those different interpretations together? It’s what I call a kaleidoscope of creative expression!
And that’s exactly what I’m building into our week at the retreat.

We’ll start with WHAT IF?
Explore. Experiment. Expand the possibilities of what watercolor can do.

Then move to LOOK AGAIN.
Because there’s always more than one way to see what’s right in front of you.

And of course, no plan of mine would be complete without WHY NOT?
Try the unexpected. Crank up the colors. Switch up the styles. See what happens.

Then comes MAKE IT YOURS.
There’s no right or wrong way to create. Only YOUR WAY, your style, your signature.

And by the end? All I can say is:
YOU GOT THIS!

That’s the creative progression I’m building into Watercolor & Wanderlust—and it’s designed for every level of experience, including beginners.

Because this isn’t about learning to paint like me. It’s about discovering more of how YOU paint.
And what better place and time to find out than in warm and sunny La Paz, Mexico in January?!

So that’s what I AM planning—a week full of creative possibilities where YOU help make up the kaleidoscope.
